Little Indians walking two by two
Three girls, one boy losing faith with their world Step by step moving towards their death Step by step moving towards their fall. Can you take them away-Can you carry them away Can you take them away- Can you carry them away.. Maybe they're the mirror that reflects all. Can you take it away- Can you kiss it away Can you take it away- Can you kiss it away Maybe they're the mirror that reflects all... -Song making us face the reality of the high suicide rate among American Indian Youths.Robert Mirabal/Little Indians-Music From

Robert-It was a lot more stressful in the past because I really wasn't partnered with anybody. In any world, and as I got older I realized how unique the culture that we have here at the pueblo was. It became apparent for me when I went out in the world. I needed somebody to take on the road to live with and to also come home with to experience and explore the traditional side of who I am. Both worlds were lonely at one time but now its becoming pretty fun, I've realized I've found somebody that I can live in both of those worlds with. I can understand her conflicts without saying anything and she can understand my conflicts, so it was hard to find somebody I could be with in both worlds. Now it seems to be evolving into something interesting because there is negativity on both sides and there's positive in both places. I tend to realize that anywhere you go in this world it's up to you to find that place. I think circumstances happen whether good or bad. I think they happen because you're ready for them. Sometimes those circumstances may be really awful but then at the same time you think, what did you do to prepare yourself for that teaching? That's how I try to look at it-you know. Because I can sit back and say that "these people are trashing me or did that to me or they did this or there's that culture over there-they're like that… all it does is breeds the same thing, and so for me, I'm really conscious of- rather than to blame somebody for the certain circumstance I try to figure out why is it here now for me? How did I attract it rather than to say that she did that or he did that? I try to internalize, well, what's the circumstance here. I tend to find the answers a lot quicker that way because I realize that I am responsible to a certain extent for the outcomes of certain circumstances that I've developed within that moment and I think those circumstances change as you grow old. And so I don't' think I'd have been able to do that if I didn't live in those two different worlds-for lack of a better word-those parallel worlds moving into some weird direction-I don't really know. <Laughs> It's interesting, I can find the healing in both places through the eyes of people.
